OPEN EDITIONS/UNIQUE PIECES The artist creates two types of works: open editions and unique pieces. Unique pieces are formed in "wet" clay (slab or reduction method) that must be dried and fired. Open editions are works where the original sculpture is created in "modeling" clay and then a mold is cast from this original (similar to the bronze process). These editions are not "ready to go" when cast, but require meticulous refining and hand detailing which results in pieces that, although a duplicate of the original, are always unique unto themselves. When completed they are dried and fired. No two editions are ever exactly alike. The artist may, at your request, customize an open edition to suit your specifications. The artist chooses not to do "limited editions" where she is locked into too few or too many, but creating pieces as desired or requested.
